Website Design

5 Important Rules in Website Design

When it comes to your website, extra attention should be paid to every minute detail to make sure it performs optimally to serve its purpose. Here are seven important rules of thumb to observe to make sure your website performs well.

1) Do not use splash pages

Splash pages are the first pages you see when you arrive at a website. They normally have a very beautiful image with words like "welcome" or "click here to enter". In fact, they are just that -- pretty vases with no real purpose. Do not let your visitors have a reason to click on the "back" button! Give them the value of your site up front without the splash page.

2) Do not use excessive banner advertisements

Even the least net savvy people have trained themselves to ignore banner advertisements so you will be wasting valuable website real estate. Instead, provide more valueable content and weave relevant affiliate links into your content, and let your visitors feel that they want to buy instead of being pushed to buy.

3) Have a simple and clear navigation

You have to provide a simple and very straightforward navigation menu so that even a young child will know how to use it. Stay away from complicated Flash based menus or multi-tiered dropdown menus. If your visitors don't know how to navigate, they will leave your site.

4) Have a clear indication of where the user is

When visitors are deeply engrossed in browsing your site, you will want to make sure they know which part of the site they are in at that moment. That way, they will be able to browse relevant information or navigate to any section of the site easily. Don't confuse your visitors because confusion means "abandon ship"!

5) Avoid using audio on your site

If your visitor is going to stay a long time at your site, reading your content, you will want to make sure they're not annoyed by some audio looping on and on on your website. If you insist on adding audio, make sure they have some control over it -- volume or muting controls would work fine.

5 Reasons Why Blogging is the New Internet Marketing Tool

Blogging is a concept that started in late 90s.  It used to be a way to comment an existing webpage, an opportunity for visitors and readers to react or voice out one’s opinion on the said page.  What started as a single-sentence commentary has evolved into pages of personal take on just about anything and everything under the sun.  As it continues to move forward, online advertising has tapped into the blog’s potential.  Here are 5 reasons why you should use blogging as an Internet marketing tool.

1.Blogging is simple.  The simplest way to get your piece on the net is through blogging.  No skills are necessary… an average adult can read and type, or at least click a mouse.  It’s like having a virtual piece of paper and you just write your ideas, experiences, new products, and hope that the truth behind your articles comes out and entice your reader to also try your product.  If you have a PC and an Internet connection (who doesn’t?) then you can blog and advertise.

2. Blogging is authentic.  In this day and age where advertising saturate our lives, we question the credibility of promoters’ claims.  However, in blogs, real people share their real-life experiences, unscathed by paid advertising.  Reading blogs about first-hand product use is like talking to people about their first-hand experience.  You definitely want to buy a tried and tested product.

3. Blogging is free.  Because blogging is yet to be proven as a mainstream online advertising media, most sites see it as something to augment current marketing tools and thus offer it for free.   Any opportunity for free webtime is definitely a bonus especially to businesses that are starting up.  Needless to say, paid blog pages can generate more income for your seriously growing business.

4. Blogging builds credibility.  As you get more and more into writing your experiences on a particular product or industry, your readers come to realize that they can depend on your posts for their own information needs.  As such, you become an expert on it; as a consequence, more readers visit your site and more bloggers link to your blogs.  As companies and professional organizations notice the growth of your readership base, they may soon get in touch with you for advertising on your blog page, or make you an affiliate, which pays for every referral generated from your blog site.

5. Blogging builds your market.  Unless you are a Hollywood star, chances are, only your Mom reads your posts.  Mom has a lot of friends, so she lets her friends know how interesting your blog site is.  But you need not depend on Mom to increase your readership base.  Look into the following ways to build your market through blogging:

-By using your e-mail.  Today, blogging is overcoming the e-mail’s popularity in quickly and effectively reaching and expanding a market.  In this age of speed and quick access, logging in and downloading e-mail is simply taking longer than clicking into a blog site.  Let them explore your site by using a short e-mail message as teaser to your blog site.  If your e-mail is on an entirely different subject, use your e-mail signature to give a link to the site.

-By using subscription.  An easy way to get your readers e-mail is to give them an opportunity to subscribe to your blogsite.  Keep some exclusive information for your subscribers to entice readers to subscribe and give their e-mail address.  Just be responsible in using their e-mail address, as the last thing you want is a comment on your blog that you are a spammer.

-By understanding your readers.  Conduct a simple survey for your readers to understand their profile and advertising preferences.  Ask consumers to give you feedback on a post, an ad link, or a trial that you shared.  In this way, it is like interviewing your readers without the commitment and intrusion of a face-to-face interview.

-By joining a blog network –A network of blogs maybe a collection of blog sites that share the same industry, interest, readership base, payment mode, etc.  Consumers find credibility and convenience in clicking one link to several real bloggers about a single subject.  Clearly, more bloggers are better than one.

-By using RSS. RSS is the fastest growing technology on the Internet today.  As such, having RSS feeds to your blog is definitely another means of generating awareness for your readership base.  Having a variety of feeds can add interest to your blog site.

Give your business a boost by effectively using blogging as an Internet marketing tool.

Blogging

If writing is an art, then, blogging is one way of using words to come up with an art. This is because people who are into blogging are the ones who are artistic on their own sense, carefully choosing words that would best describe their feelings, sentiments, wishes, desires, and everything.

Basically, blogs were first introduced as weblogs that refer to a “server’s log file.” It was created when web logging hit the virtual market. Since its inception in the mid-1990s, web logging gradually saturated the virtual community making the Internet a viable source of greater information.

However, with web logging, you still need a web site and domain names, but with blogging, you do not need anything just an account with blog providers. In most cases, these kinds of blogs are free of charge.

With the onset of blogging in the industry, personal journaling had been a common ground for people who wish to be known all over the world. However, not literally famous as this is not a case on being popular or well-known personality.

Generally, blogs are created for personal use. Like a journal, people can write their daily adventures, sentiments, and whatever ideas they want to express online.

Nevertheless, with the advent of the online businesses, blogs had gradually taken the limelight in providing businesses a chance to boost their productivity online. This is where the business blogs have taken the limelight.

Business blogs are, basically, created to advertise the services or products of a certain web site or online business in order to increase online sales.

Moreover, business blogs are also one way of promoting the company so that the other readers will know that a certain company exists online. With blogs, entrepreneurs are able to establish a name in the virtual market through articles that can be very useful in the reader’s life.

From there, you can make money out of blogs by simply syndicating it to your business’ web site. This can be done through the RSS technology.

So, if you are thinking to create a blog, whether for business or for pleasure, you need to know some tips that could help you get through and make your blog one of the interesting blogs online.

Here’s how:

1. Consider your audience

Even if your blog is generally personal, still, it would be better to consider the minds of your readers. You have to think of something that would interest them.

After all, most of the reasons of people who write blogs are not at all confined to their own personal motives. Most of them would love to be “heard” (or read) and would love to be known, in some way or another, even for just a minute. Hence, it is very important to come with a write up that everybody can understand, not necessarily that these people can relate to it but they can understand it.

2. Pictures speaks a thousand words

To make your blogging worth the browsing effort of your readers, it would be extremely nice if you will put some pictures in it. It does not necessarily mean you have to place a picture of yourself. Any photographs will do as long as it does not pose danger or insult to anyone who will be reading your blog.

3. Make constructive and beneficial blogs

Even if you are free to write anything you wan to say to the world, still, it would be better to create some write-ups that would be beneficial to your readers.

After all, its information technology that you have there so better be inclined to provide information rather than sheer quirky entertainment.

4. Avoid making multifaceted and complicated blogs

In order to have an interesting blogs, try not to use some highly technical and highfalutin words. After all, it is not a science discourse or a debate that you are making, so better stick to simple facts and short blogs.

Bear in mind that most people who use the Internet usually do more scanning than scrutinizing each site word for word. Therefore, it would be better to come with blogs that will not bore your readers just because you have these lengthy articles.

5. Make it interactive

As much as possible and if your capacity will allow it, make your blog interactive. Yu can do this by placing some video or audio clips in your blog.

You can even place an area for comments or for some feedbacks. In this way, you can get some impressions or reactions of other people. Who knows, you might even gain some friends just by making them feel at home in your blog site.

Indeed, blogs are not created just for the mere fun of it. It also has its own purpose in the world of the Internet.
Therefore, for people who wish to harness their craft, as far as writing is concerned, blogs are the best way to do it.

As they say, blogging is the contemporary term of creative and commercial writing.

On Line Dating

Establishing Online Dating Relationships: Safety First

Online dating can be fun. But don’t neglect safety and common sense when you try to hook up with a mate. At minimum, take caution in the following areas.

Protect Your Computer

Take care of your equipment and systems before you head out into the Internet realm. You need to have a firewall and anti-virus protection for your email and for when you search websites and interact online. At the bare minimum, you may want these two solutions that are offered at no charge to home computer users (i.e. not for commercial use):

Free Firewall Download: ZoneAlarm www.zonelabs.com
Free Anti-Virus Download: AVG Anti-Virus www.grisoft.com

Protect Yourself

Take care of yourself, too, by choosing appropriate dating sites. Seek and choose a reputable online dating service.  How? Begin by asking around with friends, neighbors, co-workers and others you may know who have tried online dating, and see which places they recommend. In addition, search “online dating services” and keep a notebook of their URLs or website links, the fees, rules and regulations, complete contact information of each and any other useful information that spikes your interest. Then compare each place.  Try only those places where you feel safe. Avoid the others.

So take care. Arm your computer – and yourself- with the correct tools and knowledge!

Want Some Extra Cash Recycle Your Old Phone

Im Sure you are most proberly like me and have had loads of mobile phones in your time,i get bored of mine very quickly lol.
But did you know your mobile phone is made up of some expensive materials.
Instead of just throwing away phones you don't need any more or keeping them in a drawer you should look into recycling them.
Not only could you sell old phones for cash and make some money but you will also be conserving useful materials that can be reused.
Why are Old Phones Worth Money? You may be wondering why companies want to buy old phones for cash.
Well the main reason is that mobile phones contain some expensive materials such as copper, lead, nickel and even gold.
These materials can be recycled and this means they can be sold again for reuse in industry.
Just like most of us now use recycable bins for our household rubish ie plastic bottles, tins, cardboard etc.
The planet's natural resources are under increasing pressure and this means prices for raw goods such as metals and plastics are at an all-time high.
By recycling mobile phone companies can gain back significant volumes of expensive materials that would otherwise go straight into landfill.
This is why so many businesses are now offering chances to sell phones for cash.
How are Mobile Phones Recycled? Once you have sold your old phones for cash they will be taken to a processing factory.
Here the phones will be separated into reusable phones in good condition or refurbishable and recyclable ones broken or damaged.
The reusable phones will then be tested, refurbished and wiped of data ready for resell.
Many people throw phones away that are in perfect working order or that can be repaired quickly and easily.
These can be resold back into the market as refurbished and this can extend their working lives.
The recyclable phones will move on for processing:
Phones will be stripped of usable parts such as LCD screens and batteries that could be used in the refurbishment of other phones.
Any remaining parts will be processed in a high temperature smelting furnace until they have been reduced to a lava-like consistency.
Im so glad i dont work in one of these places the smell of melting plastic is horrible lol
This thick liquid will then be poured into special containers where an agitate is added.
This will help to separate key metals such as gold, silver, copper and lead which can then be siphoned off and reused.
Harmful substances such as cadmium and lead will be disposed of safely or reused if applicable.
So the moto of this article is that you could make yourself a bit of cash just for a old broken phone or one in a drawer.

Money Working | Making Money

Money Working | Making Money: So you want to make money working at home! You are not alone. According to a recent search I did the term make money was typed in almost 100,000 times in one month. There are a lot of people wanting to make money working at home.

I was one of them and now can excitedly say I do just that. No more traffic jams, bosses, co-workers, 8-5, Mon-Fri., 2 weeks vacation etc.

Don't get me wrong! A J.O.B. certainly is needed to pay the bills and provide for the lifelong essentials for millions of people.

But it is interesting how many people have figured out that there is more than one way to do that. And making money working at home is one of them.

What proves to be a little harder is finding a job working at home. There are a lot of companies that are willing to sell you information lists that claim to have companies looking at work at home employees or sub-contractors.

My own opinion is that the only one who makes out on this method is the person selling you the information. My advice is Do Not Pay To Buy Information On Companies Looking For Work At Home People.

About Traffic Exchanges

I have used Traffic Exchanges for the last 5 years and learned quite a lot about traffic exchanges and how to use them, one thing i get asked a lot is how i make money on traffic exchanges, the answer is so simple PROMOTION i promote where ever i surf and get referals on every traffic exchange i surf those referals then upgrade or buy hit packages and then i earn commissions. Now i must admit i tend to be a upgraded member myself so therefore earn better commissions.
Ok whats a traffic exchange i hear you say, a traffic exchange service serves as a marketing tool used to promote your website and bring to it Quality website traffic from other members using a traffic exchange. You can promote with banners and text links also. You sign up to a traffic site then you can add your website or blog or what ever you want to promote, you then have to surf to earn credits these credits are then used to advertize your own site.In other words you look at other peoples sites and in turn they will look at yours.
There are many things to look for when joining a Traffic Exchange. It has to be manual to ensure your sites get seen. You want a customer service team that cares for your needs and looks after its members, earn cash commissions on upgrades and traffic purchases, and get free credits on your referrals. You want fun Games and Competitons to earn even more credits.
Exchanges enforce a certain credit ratio, which illustrates the amount of websites the surfer must view in order to receive one hit through the program for their promoted website. Many sites offer the ability to upgrade one's membership level for a more equal credit ratio. As the viewers are all website owners or affiliates, it is possible that some might find certain member sites interesting and thus make note of them on their own sites, sending more traffic their way. Most traffic programs also impose a time limit when members are browsing, ranging from 10 seconds to 60 seconds. Some incorporate the use of captcha to ensure user interaction.Almost all traffic exchange programs are free, although many of them offer special features to paid members and offer credits for purchase. Almost all traffic exchange programs encourage users to build their own referral networks, which in turn increases the referrers' amount of credits. The traffic generated in a traffic exchange can be leveraged by using a downline builder to assist the user in building a referral network in the many different traffic exchanges. In practice, traffic exchange programs are generally used by small business owners or marketers who either want free advertising or use the exchange programs for low-budget advertisement campaigns
Traffic Exchanges date back to the beginning of the web and were primarily used by organizations to share sites between employees. Viewers would rate pages in a similar fashion to the now popular social bookmarking phenomenon. When interesting websites were hard to find a traffic exchange for an organisation new to the web proved an invaluable tool.
Circa 1994 traffic exchanges moved from corporate intranets to the web. In an effort to build communities the concept of rating pages was replaced with rewarding members for viewing.
It was 1996 before traffic exchanges began to charge for traffic and around this time the concept changed from a tool for locating interesting sites to a commercial one. This change in direction resulted in increased popularity at the expense of the content which is now almost exclusively commerce

Why do some Traffic exchanges Fail

I own a traffic exchange and got it about 2 years ago and i can speak from experience here as i am a hardcore surfer and been doing that for 7 years, now it can be quite hard to make your TE a sucessfull one but as someone already pointed out it has to be original and it has to have a great domain name for a start.

I mean when i see a Traffic Exchange called silly surf that does not make me want to join that exchange so think very hard about your domain name fist.

The other main thing is not to expect instant success otherwise you will be dissapointed these things take time, i have seen loads of exchanges open up and then a few months later close again just because they did not make $1000`s straight away, and then you see other exchanges fail because they never promote their site lol.

I work sometimes 18 hours a day promoting my site and learning about the programming and design that goes into sites so i can do everything my self.I did not just jump into owning a Traffic Exchange it was something i thourght about for awhile and i was still surprised how much hard work goes into making a Traffic Exchange work.It depends on how far are you willing to work to make your exchange work?
Remember to listen to what others have to say never think you know better because im sure that 90% of TE owner know nothing about owning a Te till they actually own one lol.If you get stuck ask someone there are a lot of people out there that will either help you or offer advice, look on the internet there are hundreds of programs out there that can help you also.
